  • No wing shooting experience is complete without a four-legged hunting partner and Chip’s dog Remington will be along for retrieving duties. Remington is a four-year-old black lab that hunts hard and retrieves like a mad man! (But... he’s not so sure about Todd – he keeps trying to get Remington to do things the right way instead of the way Remington wants to do them!) And who knows... Remington might even blog a time or two about his experiences in the field!

Todd’s participation in AKC Hunt Tests throughout the spring and summer has earned his dogs multiple Master Titles. Todd and his wife Heather own Arrowhead Kennels in Hudson, Iowa. On Outdoors on the Farm, Todd’s knowledge and training techniques will be featured in “Todd’s Tips,” a regular feature on the show. Todd says, “I’m excited about giving some tips to dog owners through the show. If I can offer one or two tips that will make a viewer’s time in the field more enjoyable, then I’ve done my job.”
  • Scott is a wildlife biologist at Saylorville Lake in central Iowa where he heads up a team of biologists to enhance habitat around the lake. His tips in “Maximum Habitat” on Outdoors on the Farm will help you do a better job of managing the habitat you’ve got on your farm – ranging from food plots, CRP ground, woodlots and farm ponds. Scott is advising Chip as he develops food plots on his acreage and you’ll see his design plans come to life in a wildlife food plot and a song bird food plot. Scott says, “There are so many guys with small pieces of ground that just gets mowed once a year that hold a lot of potential for all kinds of wildlife, ranging from whitetail and turkeys to cardinals and butterflies. I just hope to help viewers take advantage of what they’ve already got.” And for those of you with a farm pond, Scott will offer up plenty of tips so that pond will finally be the fishing escape you’ve always wanted.
  • Thomas Flory is an enthusiastic and accomplished outdoorsman. In the just the last three years, Tom has harvested multiple whitetail with shotgun slug, muzzleloader and bow. He’s also had successful turkey hunts the last couple of years and managed to find the time to catch wall-hanging bluegill, northern pike and redfish (54-inch redfish!). Tom will be in the field with Chip on Outdoors on the Farm and will bring you stories about how to get kids involved in the outdoors.

  • Loren is a Denver, Iowa, farmer and “equine enthusiast.” Well... he’s an enthusiast with a twist. Let’s just call him “The Mule Guy.” Loren will bring a nostalgic connection between the outdoors and farming as we feature his mules on Outdoors on the Farm. When we’re riding, you’ll see Loren on his favorite mule, Rose. Loren is an avid trail rider and travels throughout the Midwest in the summer to meet with other mule riders. Loren’s biggest mule-riding adventure was a 10-day pack trip into the Colorado Rockies. He says, “I’d sure like to erase some of the myths about mules and give some tips about a really fun way to spend time in the outdoors just by saddling up a mule and going for a ride.”
  • Steve grew up in Oxford Junction, Iowa, and has been hunting and fishing with Chip Flory since they were very young. He is absolutely crazy for the outdoors and when he’s not making feed at a mill in Clarence, Iowa, you can probably find Steve sitting in a tree stand, a turkey blind, a flat-bottomed boat or on the bank of the Wapsipinicon River in eastern Iowa. Each fall, Steve also runs an extensive trap line for raccoon, coyote, beaver, mink and muskrat. Steve’s insights into hunting, fishing and trapping farms in eastern Iowa will help you make the most of the time you’ve got to spend in the outdoors.
