The ongoing war in Iran has had some unintended consequences, including a delay of the Trump/Xi summit that was expected to happen next week. That sent markets reeling early in the week, especially in the soy complex. Meanwhile, China continues to show a willingness to negotiate, as we look at on News 4 this week. Operation Epic Fury has spurred energy costs higher with highs still likely in store as disruptions up and down the supply chain for both crude oil and natural gas are abundant. South American production remains largely up to question, especially for second crop corn. Brazil is having a hard time finding a home for their soybeans, though increases to biodiesel blends could boost domestic use. We cover all this and much more in this week’s newsletter.
