USDA again surprises industry analysts with lower-than-expected plantings

Ahead of the Open | July 1, 2021 Corn futures rally near three-week high, soybeans surge after USDA acreage report stirs supply concerns.

The bulk of these big new-crop soybean sales was known via USDA’s daily reporting service. Old-crop sales were light, as expected, but they were able to stay in positive territory.
