HRW crop improving into harvest, spring wheat CCI rating drops
When USDA’s weekly crop condition ratings are plugged into the weighted Pro Farmer Crop Condition Index (0 to 500-point scale, with 500 being perfect), the HRW crop improved 3.1 points, led by the Kansas crop, to 339.4 points. The SRW crop inched 0.5 point higher to 374.7 points. The HRW crop is 5.6 points above the five-year average, while the SRW CCI rating is 21.0 points above its norm for this date.
The spring wheat CCI rating fell 8.2 points from last week to 324.2 points, led by a 4.5-point decline in the North Dakota crop. The spring wheat CCI rating is 53.6 points below its five-year average.
