Corn
USDA’s rating of the corn crop shows 14% as very poor to poor, 25% fair, and 61% good to excellent. Net ratings at the U.S. level were unchanged from last week. The Crop Condition Index saw a 2.28 point decline as conditions declining in Iowa and Minnesota outweighed steady to slightly higher ratings elsewhere in the U.S.

Soybeans
USDA’s soybean ratings show the crop rated as 10% very poor to poor, 28% fair, and 62% good to excellent. The good to excellent categories declined 1% from last week. The changes saw the CCI decline 0.48 points to 363.84. Condition changes were spotty geographically this week. Ratings diverged in the Dakotas, with North Dakota notching a decline while South Dakota came in slightly higher from last week. The Midwest saw declines in Iowa and Wisconsin, while Illinois and Indiana saw minor gains.

Wheat
Spring wheat ratings came in at 16% very poor to poor, 33% fair, and 51% good to excellent. The good to excellent category was down 4% from the previous week, and came in below all analyst estimates. The CCI fell 3.69 points in response to the state-level ratings changes, as declines were seen in every state except Idaho.
