Corn: December corn fell 2 3/4 cents to $4.19, near the session low. For the week, December corn lost 3 cents. The corn market bulls were being left for dead earlier this week but then posted a good recovery the last half of the week.
Soybeans: November soybeans fell 5 3/4 cents to $10.18, near the session low and on the week up 4 1/4 cents. December soybean meal fell 70 cents to $278.60, near the daily low and for the week up $4.00. December bean oil fell 39 points to 50.05 cents, near the daily low and for the week down 14 points. The soybean meal market needed to perform before the soybean market could mount an upside price offensive.
Wheat: December SRW wheat rose 1/2 cent to $5.15 1/4, near mid-range and for the week down 4 1/2 cents. December HRW wheat lost 2 cents to $4.97, nearer the daily low and down 8 1/2 cents for the week. Spring wheat futures fell 3/4 of a cent to $5.59 3/4. The winter wheat futures markets showed some stabilization late this week, after setting contract lows Wednesday.
Cotton: December cotton futures rose 21 points to 65.30 cents and near mid-range. For the week, December cotton fell 110 points. The cotton futures market saw short covering today but a price downtrend remains in place on the daily bar chart, to suggest the speculative bears will continue to press the short side early next week.
Cattle: December live cattle futures rose $1.025 to $234.50, near the session high and for the week up 20 cents. November feeder cattle futures rose $3.025 to $355.425, near the daily high and for the week up 95 cents. The live and feeder cattle futures markets saw a choppy trading week.
Hogs: December lean hog futures rose 62 1/2 cents to $87.30, nearer the daily high and for the week down $3.75. December lean hogs today saw a modest corrective bounce but serious near-term technical damage was inflicted this week to suggest the speculative, chart-based bears will be pressing their case on the short side early next week.
