Jonathan has brought years of psychology and counseling expertise to the pages of Farm Journal since 1992. His column, Helpline, answers reader questions and provides helpful information regarding the mental and physiological issues involved with agriculture. After growing up on a family farm in Mexico, Mo., Jonathan attended the University of Missouri and Iowa State University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in counselor education from ISU. Since earning his degrees, Jonathan has worked for the Iowa Methodist Medical Center and several mental health providers and centers. He currently owns a mental health practice that has grown into a community residential placement provider for individuals with developmental disabilities.
