Winter Wheat Ratings Improve after Recent Moisture

A few state offices are now updating their winter wheat crop condition ratings on a weekly basis. Following are the updates to the amount of crop rated “good” to “excellent” (G/E) and “poor” to “very poor” (P/VP) as of March 21.

  • Kansas: 45% G/E and 21% P/VP (vs. 38% G/E and 22% P/VP the week prior)
  • Oklahoma: 62% G/E and 10% P/VP (vs. 57% G/E and 9% P/VP)
  • Texas: 29% G/E and 29% P/VP (vs. 27% G/E and 39% P/VP)

USDA’s official crop condition updates will resume April 5.
