Weekly Sales Details

Net sales of 553,300 MT for 2018/2019 were up 92 percent from the previous week, but down 15 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Colombia (226,700 MT, including 44,500 MT switched from unknown destinations), Japan (121,400 MT, including 93,800 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (121,400 MT, including decreases of 84,300 M), South Korea (57,600 MT), and Guatemala (36,400 MT, including 600 MT switched from El Salvador).  Reductions were for unknown destinations (67,200 MT) and Trinidad (800 MT).  For 2019/2020, net sales of 80,800 MT were primiarly for Panama (38,800 MT), Guatemala (25,600 MT), and unknown destinations (12,700 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 983,900 MT were down 15 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Mexico (279,400 MT), Japan (276,200 MT), South Korea (117,100 MT), Colombia (99,900 MT), and Taiwan (79,000 MT).

Export commitments are running 11% behind year-ago versus 10% behind 2017-18 levels the previous week. USDA projects exports in 2018-19 at 2.300 billion bu., down 5.7% from the previous marketing year.

Weekly Sales Details

Net sales of 114,500 metric tons for delivery in the 2018/2019 were up 26 percent from the previous week, but down 52 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Indonesia (88,500 MT, including 78,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Iraq (55,000 MT, including 52,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), the Philippines (51,500 MT), Vietnam (39,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), and Italy (33,800 MT).  Reductions were primarily for South Korea (144,900 MT), unknown destinations (120,100 MT), and Colombia (20,500 MT).  For 2019/2020, net sales of 419,400 MT reported for South Korea (93,700 MT), Nigeria (75,700 MT), Japan (32,400 MT), unknown destinations (31,400 MT), and Brazil (30,000 MT), were partially offset by reductions for Jamaica (5,000 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 834,400 MT were up 26 percent from the previous week and 33 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Indonesia (145,500 MT), Japan (115,600 MT), the Philippines (111,500 MT), Iraq (105,000 MT), and Egypt (63,000 MT).

Net sales of 370,900 MT for 2018/2019 were reported for Germany (122,000 MT), Indonesia (95,300 MT, including 68,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 800 MT), unknown destinations (38,500 MT), Japan (28,500 MT, including 14,300 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 400 MT), and Taiwan (23,900 MT).  For 2019/2020, net sales of 303,400 MT were primarily for unknown destinations (277,000 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 616,100 MT were up 12 percent from the previous week and 29 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to China (205,900 MT), Germany (122,000 MT), Mexico (110,500 MT), Indonesia (90,300 MT), and Taiwan (20,700 MT).

Export commitments are running 18% behind the 2017-18 marketing year compared with 18% behind year-ago the previous week. USDA projects exports in 2018-19 at 1.775 billion bu., down 16.6% from year-ago.

Net sales of 196,100 MT for 2018/2019 were up 30 percent from the previous week, but down 8 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Colombia (41,400 MT, including decreases of 2,500 MT), Canada (33,800 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), Morocco (30,000 MT), Guatemala (28,300 MT, including 400 MT switched from El Salvador), and the Philippines (22,800 MT).  Reductions were primarily for Ecuador (10,000 MT), unknown destinations (7,500 MT), and Cuba (2,000 MT).  For 2019/2020, net sales of 69,300 MT were primarily for Guatemala (13,000 MT), El Salvador (11,300 MT), Panama (11,200 MT), unknown destinations (9,400 MT), and Mexico (8,400 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 212,800 MT were down 20 percent from the previous week and 27 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Vietnam (53,200 MT), Mexico (41,900 MT), Colombia (37,400 MT), the Dominican Republic (31,100 MT), and Canada (10,500 MT).

Export commitments for 2018-19 are running in line with year-ago, compared with 2% ahead of year-ago the week before. USDA projects exports in 2018-19 to be down 2.2% from the previous marketing year.

Net sales of 10,800 MT for 2018/2019 were down 34 percent from the previous week and 36 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for South Korea (10,500 MT), Mexico (1,000 MT), and Canada (100 MT), were partially offset by reductions for the Dominican Republic (800 MT).  Exports of 17,700 MT were down 57 percent from the previous week, but up 1 percent from the prior 4-week average.

Weekly Export Details

The destinations were primarily to Guatemala (7,200 MT), Jamaica (3,500 MT), Mexico (1,900 MT), Costa Rica (1,500 MT), and Oman (1,500 MT).

Net sales of 226,900 RB for 2018/2019 were down 4 percent from the previous week, but up 8 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Turkey (70,700 RB, including decreases of 7,100 RB), India (55,800 RB), Vietnam (27,500 RB), Indonesia (26,500 RB), and Taiwan (10,400 RB, including 500 RB switched from Vietnam).  For 2019/2020, net sales of 176,400 RB were primarily for Indonesia (93,700 RB), Vietnam (44,000 RB), South Korea (13,100 RB), Peru (5,700 RB), and Thailand (5,700 RB).  Exports of 362,800 RB were down 6 percent from the previous week, but up 9 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Exports were primarily to Vietnam (98,500 RB), China (64,400 RB), Turkey (48,500 RB), India (37,700 RB), and Pakistan (34,900 RB).  Net sales of Pima totaling 8,200 RB were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 17 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were primarily for Indonesia (4,100 RB), Pakistan (2,100 RB), and China (1,000 RB).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 22,900 RB were up 38 percent from the previous week and 86 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were China (10,400 RB), India (4,500 RB), Vietnam (2,200 RB), Peru (1,900 RB), and Pakistan (1,800 RB).

Export commitments for 2018-19 are running ???% behind year-ago, versus 13% behind the week prior. USDA forecasts total cotton exports to fall 6.9% to 14.75 million bales this marketing year.

Net sales of 16,900 MT reported for 2019 were down 30 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for South Korea (5,300 MT, including decreases of 400 MT), Japan (3,700 MT, including decreases of 500 MT), Taiwan (2,300 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), Mexico (1,900 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), and Canada (1,400 MT, including decreases of 100 MT).  Reductions were reported for Brazil (200 MT).  Exports of 18,200 MT were down 24 percent from the previous week, but up 16 percent from the prior 4-week average. 

Weekly Export Details

The primary destinations were Japan (6,000 MT), South Korea (5,300 MT), Mexico (1,900 MT), Taiwan (1,500 MT), and Canada (1,300 MT).

 

Comments and Performance Indicators

Last week, sales totaled 24,200 MT. USDA projects 2019 exports to rise 0.5% from year-ago levels.

Net sales of 10,500 MT reported for 2019 were down 52 percent from the previous week and 55 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (4,700 MT), Japan (2,300 MT), Canada (1,700 MT), South Korea (1,500 MT), and the Philippines (900 MT).  Reductions were reported for China (3,200 MT).  Exports of 23,500 MT were down 13 percent from the previous week and 7 percent from the prior 4-week average.

Weekly Export Details

The primary destinations were Mexico (5,800 MT), China (4,600 MT), South Korea (3,100 MT), Japan (2,900 MT), and Hong Kong (1,700 MT).

 

Comments and Performance Indicators
