NWS 6-10 Day: Warm and Wet Across Corn Belt

Posted on 03/09/2017 10:23 AM

The National Weather Service forecast for May 29 through June 2 calls for above-normal temps and precip across the Corn Belt and Northern Plains, which if realized, would slow remaining planting efforts, but boost establishment of the crops. Above-normal precip is also expected across the Central and Southern Plains, which will slow the start of winter wheat harvest and could cause some quality concerns depending on how much rain falls. Kansas and Oklahoma are expected to see above-normal temps, while a mix of temps is expected across Texas.
