Hogs & Pigs Report Expected to Show Little Change in Hog Herd Vs. Year-ago

On average, analysts surveyed by Reuters expect USDA will report the March 1 hog herd nearly in line with year-ago at 76.230 million head. The breeding herd is expected to be down 1.3% from last year. The market hog inventory, on average, is expected to edge 0.2% higher. The report will be released at 2:00 p.m. CT Thursday.
