On average, analysts surveyed by Reuters expect USDA’s Cattle on Feed Report to show there were around 12.023 million head of cattle on feed as of Feb. 1, up 0.8% from year-ago levels. Placements are expected slide marginally from year-ago levels, but the relatively wide range of expectations and some calling for an increase signals uncertainty about the figure. Marketings are expected to drop nearly 5% from year-ago. There were two fewer marketing days in January relative to year-ago. The report will be released at 2:00 p.m. CT Friday.
