Big Jump for SRW CCI Rating, Small Improvement for HRW Crop

When USDA’s initial nation crop condition ratings of the spring are plugged into the weighted Pro Farmer Crop Condition Index (0 to 500 point scale, with 500 being perfect), the HRW wheat crop improved 2.6 points from last fall to 349.6. The SRW CCI rating jumped 24.1 points to 362.9. The initial spring CCI for the HRW crop is 8.6 points below last year but 23.4 points above the five-year average. The first CCI of the spring for the SRW crop is 40.7 points above last year and 7.2 points higher than the five-year average.
