Weekly Sales Details

Net sales of 494,000 MT for 2019-20, primarily for Mexico (196,800 MT, including decreases of 11,700 MT), Japan (92,900 MT, including 4,500 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 3,600 MT), unknown destinations (85,300 MT), Colombia (47,300 MT), and Thailand (39,400 MT), were partially offset by reductions for Nicaragua (1,000 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 278,900 MT were primarily to Mexico (169,700 MT), Taiwan (27,200 MT), Japan (25,900 MT), Guatemala (22,600 MT), and the Dominican Republic (14,900 MT).  

Comments and Performance Indicators

Export commitments early in the 2019-20 marketing year are 50% behind year-ago commitments versus 48% behind last week. USDA projects exports in 2019-20 at 2.050 billion bu., down 0.4% from the previous marketing year.

Wheat

Net sales of 283,200 metric tons for 2019-20 were down 1% from the previous week and 40% from the prior 4-week average.  Increases primarily for Japan (103,500 MT), the Philippines (61,900 MT, including decreases of 38,900 MT), Mexico (58,900 MT, including decreases of 900 MT), Egypt (50,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Yemen (30,000 MT), were partially offset by reductions for unknown destinations (114,400 MT), South Korea (13,000 MT), Vietnam (12,200 MT), Chile (11,000 MT), and Algeria (10,000 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 498,400 MT were down 2% from the previous week, but up 4% from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Thailand (84,000 MT), Japan (59,300 MT), the Philippines (44,900 MT), Mexico (42,700 MT), and South Korea (39,600 MT). 

Comments and Performance Indicators

Export commitments are running 15% ahead of year-ago compared with 20% ahead the week prior. USDA projects exports in 2019-20 at 975 million bu., up 4.2% from the previous marketing year.

Soybeans

Net sales of 1,038,000 MT for 2019-20, primarily for China (391,400 MT), Indonesia (95,700 MT, including 68,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), the Netherlands (69,800 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Japan (66,600 MT, including 45,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 800 MT), and Pakistan (66,000 MT), were partially offset by reductions for unknown destinations (32,000 MT) and the Philippines (18,200 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 950,900 MT were primarily to China (207,400 MT), Mexico (104,400 MT), Indonesia (99,300 MT), the Netherlands (69,800 MT), and Taiwan (69,300 MT).

Export commitments early in 2019-20 are 35% behind year-ago levels, which compares to 37% behind year-ago last week. USDA projects exports in 2019-20 at 1.775 billion bu., up 1.7% from year-ago.

Net sales of 43,500 MT for 2018-19 resulting in increases for Canada (19,000 MT, including decreases of 700 MT), Colombia (13,100 MT, including decreases of 1,000 MT), Ecuador (8,200 MT), the Dominican Republic (7,000 MT, including 6,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 400 MT), and Burma (5,800 MT), were partially offset by reductions for Japan (30,100 MT), unknown destinations (2,500 MT), and Guatemala (1,200 MT).  For 2019-20, net sales of 120,800 MT were primarily for Colombia (30,500 MT), the Philippines (30,000 MT), Ecuador (29,000 MT), Mexico (11,800 MT), and the Dominican Republic (10,000 MT).

Exports of 197,700 MT were up 1% from the previous week, but down 11% from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Vietnam (50,700 MT), the Dominican Republic (37,500 MT), Colombia (37,300 MT), Mexico (23,400 MT), and Canada (20,900 MT).

Export commitments for 2018-19 are running 4% behind year-ago, which compares to 3% behind the week prior. USDA projects exports in 2018-19 to be down 1.9% from the previous marketing year.

Net sales of 4,600 MT for 2018-19 were down 76% from the previous week and 53% from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were primarily for Jamaica (3,500 MT), the Dominican Republic (500 MT), Canada (400 MT, including decreases of 400 MT), and Mexico (200 MT).  For 2019-20, net sales of 29,900 MT were for Mozambique (17,200 MT), Pakistan (5,200 MT), South Korea (5,000 MT), and Guatemala (2,500 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 1,400 MT--a marketing-year low--were down 92% from the previous week and 90% from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Mexico (1,000 MT), Canada (200 MT), and Panama (100 MT).

Export commitments for the 2018-19 marketing year are running 14% behind year-ago, which compares to 14% behind the week prior. USDA projects exports in 2018-19 to be down 16.1% from the previous year.

Net sales of 155,200 RB for 2019-20 were up 83% from the previous week and 33% from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were primarily for Pakistan (35,400 RB), Guatemala (30,300 RB), Vietnam (19,800 RB, including 2,200 RB switched from Japan, 4,300 RB switched from Hong Kong, and 900 RB switched from China), Colombia (16,200 RB), and China (14,400 RB).  Reductions were for Hong Kong (4,300 RB).  For 2020/2021, net sales of 12,800 RB were reported for Guatemala (5,900 RB), Honduras (3,500 RB), and Colombia (3,400 RB).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 175,900 RB were up 6% from the previous week, but down 4% from the prior 4-week average.  Exports were primarily to Vietnam (48,700 RB), Indonesia (25,200 RB), Turkey (17,000 RB), Bangladesh (13,200 RB), and India (12,200 RB).

Export commitments for 2019-20 are running 5% behind year-ago versus 6% behind year-ago last week. USDA forecasts total cotton exports to fall rise 11.8% to 16.5 million bales this marketing year.

Beef

Net sales of 19,100 MT reported for 2019 were up 15% from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases primarily for Panama (6,000 MT), South Korea (5,300 MT, including decreases of 700 MT), Japan (2,300 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), Mexico (1,500 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), and Taiwan (1,100 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), were partially offset by reductions for Chile (100 MT).  For 2020, net sales of 600 MT were reported for Canada (300 MT), Mexico (100 MT), Japan (100 MT), and Vietnam (100 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 17,000 MT were down 1% from the previous week, but up 7% from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily to Japan (4,700 MT), South Korea (4,200 MT), Mexico (1,800 MT), Taiwan (1,700 MT), and Hong Kong (1,600 MT).

Comments and Performance Indicators

Last week, 2019 sales totaled 17,000 MT. USDA projects 2019 exports to slide 0.6% from year-ago levels.

Pork

Weekly Sales Details

Net sales of 32,200 MT reported for 2019 were up noticeably from the previous week and 57% from the prior 4-week average.  Increases primarily for Mexico (13,400 MT), South Korea (4,600 MT), Japan (3,500 MT), China (3,400 MT), and Guatemala (1,700 MT), were partially offset by reductions for Australia (100 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 24,500 MT were up 1% from the previous week and 3% from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were to Mexico (7,900 MT), China (6,100 MT), Japan (3,200 MT), South Korea (2,100 MT), and Canada (1,500 MT).

Comments and Performance Indicators

Sales for 2019 totaled 14,300 in last week’s report. USDA projects exports in 2019 will rise 11.1% from year-ago.
