H&P Report Expected to Reflect Continued Herd Expansion

Posted on 09/25/2019 3:06 PM

On average, analysts surveyed by Reuters expect USDA will report the Sept. 1 hog herd at 77.268 million head, which would be a 2.8% rise from year-ago levels. In fact, all categories except for summer farrowings are expected to top year-ago levels. We’ll have analysis of the data in “Evening Report” and online following its 2:00 p.m. CT release on Friday.
