Weekly Sales Details

Net sales of 906,800 MT for 2018-19 were up noticeably from the previous week and up 94% from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Japan (713,200 MT, including 591,500 MT late reporting, 49,200 MT switched from unknown destinations, and decreases of 13,100 MT), Mexico (184,700 MT, including decreases of 9,000 MT), Colombia (147,800 MT, including 126,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 500 MT), Saudi Arabia (59,400 MT, including 65,500 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 6,100 MT), and Guatemala (20,600 MT, including 19,900 MT switched from unknown destinations). Reductions were primarily for unknown destinations (203,200 MT), South Korea (63,700 MT), the Dominican Republic (16,200 MT), and Panama (11,200 MT). For 2019-20, net sales of 76,500 MT were for Mexico (30,000 MT), Panama (20,600 MT), Colombia (14,000 MT), Costa Rica (11,700 MT), and Canada (100 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 1,720,400 MT were up 96% from the previous week and 57% from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Japan (931,300 MT, including 591,500 MT late reporting), Mexico (245,900 MT), Colombia (219,700 MT), South Korea (61,500 MT), and Saudi Arabia (59,400 MT).  

Comments and Performance Indicators

Export commitments are running 11% behind year-ago versus 11% behind 2017-18 levels the previous week. USDA projects exports in 2018-19 at 2.300 billion bu., down 5.7% from the previous marketing year.

Net sales of 153,000 metric tons for delivery in the 2018-19 were up noticeably from the previous week and up 63% from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Indonesia (70,000 MT), Yemen (44,000 MT, including 40,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Canada (29,900 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), Japan (29,000, late reporting), and the Dominican Republic (27,400 MT, including 30,200 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 3,600 MT). Reductions were primarily for unknown destinations (140,000 MT), Singapore (20,000 MT), and Tanzania (9,800 MT). For 2019-20, net sales of 411,800 MT were primarily for unknown destinations (83,400 MT), Japan (82,600 MT), the Philippines (55,000 MT), Nigeria (50,000 MT), and Indonesia (43,000 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 435,300 MT were down 51% from the previous week and 41% from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Mexico (71,700 MT), Yemen (44,000 MT), the Dominican Republic (39,900 MT), Nigeria (38,000 MT), and Tanzania (35,200 MT).

Net sales of 455,800 MT for 2018-19 were down 15% from the previous week, but up 92% from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for China (135,700 MT, including 136,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 2,300 MT), Spain (57,000 MT), the Netherlands (56,800 MT, including 66,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 9,200 MT), Canada (47,700 MT), and Japan (33,800 MT, including decreases of 200 MT). Reductions were reported for Mexico (2,600 MT). For 2019-20, net sales of 22,000 MT were for unknown destinations (21,000 MT), Vietnam (600 MT), and Japan (400 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 469,000 MT were down 18% from the previous week and 16% from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to China (203,700 MT), the Netherlands (56,800 MT), Egypt (50,800 MT), Canada (35,200 MT), and Mexico (31,300 MT).

Export commitments are running 17% behind the 2017-18 marketing year compared with 17% behind year-ago the previous week. USDA projects exports in 2018-19 at 1.775 billion bu., down 16.6% from year-ago.

Increases were reported for the Philippines (70,900 MT), Mexico (43,900 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), Canada (26,800 MT), Honduras (7,100 MT), and Guatemala (6,900 MT, switched from unknown destinations). Reductions were primaily for Ecuador (7,000 MT), French West Indies (2,900 MT), and unknown destinations (2,300 MT). For 2019-20, net sales of 65,000 MT were primarily for unknown destinations (30,000 MT) and the Dominican Republic (27,900 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 243,100 MT were up 17% from the previous week and 7% from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to the Philippines (72,200 MT), Colombia (61,000 MT), Mexico (30,500 MT), and Guatemala (21,600 MT).

Export commitments for 2018-19 are running steady with year-ago, compared with 1% behind year-ago the week before. USDA projects exports in 2018-19 to be down 2.2% from the previous marketing year.

For 2019-20, net sales of 136,200 RB were primarily for Mexico (23,600 RB), Indonesia (23,000 RB), Turkey (20,400 RB), Vietnam (20,400 RB), and China (15,400 RB). 

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 410,600 RB were up 18% from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. Exports were primarily to Vietnam (118,400 RB), Turkey (74,900 RB), China (50,100 RB), India (34,100 RB), and Indonesia (29,600 RB).

Export commitments for 2018-19 are running 8% behind year-ago, versus 10% behind the week prior. USDA forecasts total cotton exports to fall 6.9% to 14.75 million bales this marketing year.

Beef

Increases were reported for Hong Kong (7,400 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), Japan (5,200 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), South Korea (3,300 MT, including decreases of 400 MT), Taiwan (2,100 MT), and Chile (1,100 MT). For 2020, total net sales of 100 MT were reported for South Korea.

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 13,600 MT were down 24% from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Japan (4,300 MT), South Korea (3,700 MT), Mexico (1,700 MT), Canada (1,100 MT), and Taiwan (1,000 MT).

Comments and Performance Indicators

Last week, sales totaled 24,400 MT. USDA projects 2019 exports to rise 0.5% from year-ago levels.

Pork

Net sales of 54,700 MT reported for 2019 were up 18% from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for China (39,100 MT), Mexico (8,900 MT), Canada (1,500 MT), Chile (1,400 MT), and Japan (1,100 MT). Reductions were reported for Panama (100 MT) and Guatemala (100 MT).

Weekly Export Details

Exports of 23,400 MT were down 3% from the previous week and 7% from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Mexico (5,500 MT), China (4,200 MT), South Korea (2,800 MT), Japan (2,300 MT), and Canada (1,500 MT).

Comments and Performance Indicators
