Corn, Bean CCI Ratings Continue Seasonal Decline

When USDA's weekly crop condition ratings are plugged into the weighted Pro Farmer Crop Condition Index (CCI; 0 to 500 point scale, with 500 representing perfect), the corn crop dropped 4.50 points to 384.79 and the soybean crop declined 3.08 points to 368.95.  While the CCI ratings have been on the decline for the past month, both crops are still rated ahead of last year and the five-year averages. The five-year average CCI rating in mid-July is 376.36 for corn and 362.47 for soybeans.
