Total beef stocks in frozen storage increased roughly 10.9 million lbs. (2.2%) during October to 506.931 million pounds. Still, beef stocks were around 26.1 million lbs. (4.9%) less than last year. That signals demand doing a good job keeping pace with increasing supplies.

Pork stocks declined around 21.3 million lbs. (3.4%) during October to 597.295 million pounds. Pork stocks were 1.715 million lbs. (0.3%) below October 2016 inventories. As with beef, demand is doing a good job chewing through increasing supplies.

Total poultry stocks at 1.329 billion lbs. declined 62.244 million lbs. (4.5%) during October. Poultry stocks were 145.632 million lbs. (12.3%) above year-ago levels. Chicken stocks were up roughly 90.7 million lbs. (11.7%) from year-ago, while turkey stocks increased 57.2 million lbs. (14.3%).
