Members of the National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA) crushed 158.885 million bu. of soybeans during August, which was nearly 5 million bu. lighter than anticipated but still easily the largest figure on record for the month. The data signals USDA is unlikely to make much, if any, change to its 2017-18 corn crush forecast.
The lower-than-anticipated crush figure also resulted in soyoil stocks coming in lighter than expected, dropping 141 million lbs. to 1.623 billion pounds. Traders had expected little change from July.
Soymeal exports in August totaled 761,899 MT, up 24,434 MT from July.
