Rains favored northern Santa Fe, Entre Rios, most of Buenos Aires, and La Pampa over the weekend. The weekend rains exceeded expectations in northwestern Buenos Aires, but underperformed across southern Santa Fe and Cordoba. Dry weather is expected through Wednesday, but another round of showers is expected on Thursday and Friday, which may bring some relief from dryness to Cordoba and southern Santa Fe.
Rains in the 6-10 day period may lead to further improvements across Santa Fe, Entre Rios, and northern Buenos Aires.
Meanwhile in Brazil, rains favored Mato Grosso, northern Mato Grosso do Sul, western Goias, Parana, Santa Catarina and western Rio Grande do Sul over the weekend, with the heaviest rains mainly favoring Mato Grosso. Rains should mostly favor southern and western Brazil this week, with Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and Parana seeing the heaviest amounts. The rains should improve soil moisture across Mato Grosso do Sul and northern and western Parana, favoring corn and soybean growth.
Drier weather over the next 10 days would allow soil moisture to decline across Bahia, Goias and portions of Sao Paulo, which may increase stress on crops.
