1"A few light and scattered showers favored northern Cordoba and northern Santa Fe over the weekend, but most of the major growing areas in Argentina remained dry. Mostly dry weather is expected to continue this week, which will allow dryness to build further, especially in south central Cordoba, southern Santa Fe, and Buenos Aires.

The dry weather for should continue into next weekend, but shower are expected to develop across Argentina next week. This should lead to some improvements in soil moisture, but more rain will still be needed.

Meanwhile in Brazil, rains favored Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goias, Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo, Parana, and Santa Catarina over the weekend. The rains further improved soil moisture across Sao Paulo and Parana, but some dryness remains across portions of Mato Grosso do Sul and Goias. Rains are expected to favor northern Brazil this week, with the heaviest amounts favoring Mato Grosso, Goias, western Bahia, and Minas Gerais. These rains should favor corn and soybean growth across northern Brazil, but drier weather in Mato Grosso do Sul will allow some dryness to linger. Rains should favor southern and western areas in the 6-10 day period.
