The National Weather Service forecast for August 18-22 calls for above-normal precip across the Corn Belt, Plains and mid-South, which lowers concerns about late-season crop problems developing. The forecast calls for a mix of temps, with warmer conditions favored over northern Illinois, Indiana and Ohio and below-normal temps expected across the Northern Plains, Nebraska and mid-South. Elsewhere, normal temps are expected.

The NWS 8-14 day outlook calls for a continuation of above-normal precip across the Corn Belt.
