Grain Shipments Disappoint, But Soybean Export Inspections Hold Strong

Comments: Inspections were down 311,029 MT from last week and well below expectations. Inspections for 2016-17 are up 82.1% from year-ago, compared to 82.7% ahead the previous week. USDA's 2016-17 export forecast of 2.225 billion bu. is up 17.2% above the previous marketing year.
Wheat

Comments: Inspections are down 321,341 MT from the previous week and fell well short of expectations. Inspections for 2016-17 are running 27.7% ahead of year-ago compared to 30.0% ahead last week. USDA's export forecast for 2016-17 is at 975 million bu., up 25.8% from the previous marketing year.
Soybeans

Expectations (MMT) 2,500,000-2,800,000
Comments: Export inspections were up 114,181 MT from the previous week's tally and came in near the top end of lofty expectations. Inspections for 2016-17 are running 16.9% ahead of year-ago, compared to 15.4% ahead the previous week. USDA's 2016-17 export forecast is at 2.050 billion bu., up 5.9% from year-ago.
